Grand Prairie Girls Softball Association (GPGSA) was formed in 1973 to provide girls in Grand Prairie and surrounding cities with a safe and organized environment to learn how to play softball in a recreational atmosphere. Leagues are formed for girl’s (and boys-Blast Ball) ages 3 years old thru 17 year olds.  The goal is athletic development, teamwork, sportsmanship and most importantly, FUN!

GPGSA offers both spring and fall seasons. The spring season, generally begins in early March to late May. The fall season, generally begins in early September to late October.  The League is divided into divisions based on age.  Blast Ball is for girls and boys ages 3-5.  In the Six(6) Under Division, girls begin to learn the fundamentals of softball with coach pitch or from the T.  Starting at the Eight(8) Under Division and up, fastpitch softball is the game and development continues with specific more skills development and knowledge of game. 

Teams typically play 10 games throughout a season, usually 2 games a week. Games are generally played on a specific weeknight, and start at 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM each night. Game times vary by age group with the younger girls and Blast Ball playing the earlier games. Practice days and times are determined by each team’s head coach. Teams are encouraged to have two planned activities (practices and/or games) each week. Coaches generally consult with parents regarding practice days and times.
